Coaches

 

All our coaches at Auxiliary Crossfit are required to have a minimum certification of Level 1 Crossfit, one additional certification (Gymnastics, Olympic Lifting, etc), and Standard First Aid. All members of our current coaching team meet and exceed this requirement. They are highly trained strength and conditioning specialists understanding how to target and optimize all aspects of fitness and wellness.

Tanner Mattson

Tanner has been involved in athletics his whole life. He has played on the Canadian National Racquetball team as well as played high level hockey. He is a Type 1 Diabetic and specializes in training individuals with Diabetes. He has been coaching for the past 2 years and has recently joined the Auxiliary team.

Samantha Pereira da Silva

BASc of Kinesiology Degree

Sam has always had a love and passion for sports and wellbeing. After graduating from fitness and health at Humber, she went on to pursue her BaSc Kinesiology degree, where she then found a passion for CrossFit and its fitness methodologies. Sam has many years of coaching experience and loves being a part of every member's individual fitness journeys.

Keren Chen

Keren is addicted to helping people discover health and happiness using a diet based on unprocessed, whole foods and a fitness regimen based on HIIT training using functional movements. She is the lead nutritionist at Auxiliary CrossFit. She is also obsessed with Kombucha.

Adolfo Guevara

Adolfo has a lengthy athletic background playing Soccer, Football, and baseball in University. He fell in love with Crossfit after viewing the Crossfit Games in 2011 which soon drove him to get his Level 1 certification. He is our weightlifting specialist and one of Auxiliary’s earliest members being here for five years.

Tiago Vilaca

Tiago is our newest member of the Auxiliary Family. He began studying fitness and health promotion at George Brown College which is where he realized how much he enjoyed helping those on their fitness journey. He found then found CrossFit and was immediately welcomed by the community. His intentions are to continue learning from the those around him and help train others to be their very best.

Zev Pechenick

Years ago, when Auxiliary was in its infancy, Zev joined our little gym and became Aux’s 5th member. It wasn't long after he decided to take his level 1 and fell in love with the gratification that comes with transforming a life through fitness. In 2013 he turned his sights to competitive weightlifting and became immersed in the world of Olympic Weightlifting which lead him to this current role as Auxiliary’s Head Coach of the Barbell Club.

Jenn Styslo

Jenn is auxiliary’s leading mobility trainer. Her specialty is postural support exercises, body awareness, and flexibility. She brings her silly and upbeat personality to our weekly MOGA classes. When she isn't improving our range of motion, Jenn enjoys snowboarding, longboarding, and weightlifting.

Isaias Starkman

After trying many sports and training methodologies growing up, Isaias fell in love with CrossFit for it’s universal scalability and inclusiveness. After a few short years of CrossFit Isaias entered a local strongman competition where he came first place. He now focuses less on being a competitive athletic and more on his RMT career where he can help others reach their full potential in Crossfit.

Roger Kim

Roger is an athlete and business owner in the food and beverage industry. He spent most of his youth playing hockey and has played on several Junior A teams, including the Wexford Raiders, Vaughan Vipers, Oakville Blades, and St. Michael's Buzzers. He now commits his time to his work, his new family, and CrossFit training.
